Foothills Community Foundation reaches 25 years of helping valley organizations better the community

Foothills Community Foundation (FCF) began as a very small organization, first hosting a humble Dessert and Discourse lecture series for a small group of local residents its first year in operation which would later grow into it's own entity known as the Mindquest Lectures.  Since that time, FCF's tremendous growth has seen the organization emerge as an important community connection to a diverse spectrum of vital resources, ranging from its Partners in Education program, which has provided $2 million to enrich the educational experience of local K-12 students since just 1992, to its award winning Desert Foothills Theater, to the exciting educational and social offerings made possible through other FCF programs, such as Desert Awareness, the Foothills Film Society and the above mentioned MindQuest Lectures.

This past year, FCF further demonstrated its role as an important community connection with the grand opening of its new, 10,000 square foot community center, the FCF-Holland Community Center, offering Desert Foothills residents the first-ever opportunity to gather and participate in the multitude of programs and services offered by FCF in a warm and inviting, state-of-the-art community meeting space. Working in partnership with the Desert Foothills YMCA and Paradise Valley Community College, FCF was also instrumental in bringing these additional resources to the Desert Foothills community, and creating the Black Mountain Campus, on 60th Street just south of Carefree Highway, where all three organizations are now housed.

FCF also supports the Desert Foothills community by working jointly with Desert Foothills Community Education, Scottsdale Healthcare, Kiwanis Club of Carefree, and the Foothills Food Bank.

With all of its accomplishments and efforts to not only better their community in Desert Foothills, but the surrounding communities as well. Organizations like FCF are vital to our Valley as it provides a sense of belonging to a state that is well known for its melting-pot makeup of residents.
